Myles and I used to show and breed dogs, I kept Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Japanese Shiba Inu's and Myles bred Norweigian Elkhounds. This we felt gave us more than ehough experience when it came to breeding cats as i had horses all my life until the past few years and i used to breed Welsh Section D Cobs.
I have always wanted Maine Coons ever since i saw them on the TV in the early 1980's but have never had the time to devote to them as I have always worked full time in the NHS.
As i developed my Illness unfortunately i had to give up work and this was when we decided that I had now got the time to spend with the cats and devote all our love and attention to this wonderful breed so thats when we went ahead and aquired our girls.
In early 2004 we aquired our first breeding and show girl from Heather Horton, this was Namrib Tiffany, tiff as she is know to us is the mother to our wonderful home bred stud boy Snoocoons Hellraiser. Shortly after this we had been waiting for a while and we were fortunate to be able to have Rockoon Andromeda a wonderful brown tabby girl from the Rockoon cattery in Cumbria. We started to show and had a super time with the girls, Lottie *Rockoon Andromeda* went on to make Champion and then retired from the show ring to have her first litter.
We have two grown up children who live with us so you can imagine that our kittens are very well socialised with all the comings and goings in the household. They get loads of
attention, cuddles and are well used to being handled for sure!! Our kittens are very much used to dogs as we have our own Ridgeback who lives with us too called "Scooby" all the cats and kittens love to cuddle up to him and for such a huge dog hes such a sweetheart with them. Even when they start running around the place he manages to get out of the way and with his long lanky legs he doesnt tread on them either!!.
I love nothing more than having "cat chats" with people so if you want any information on raw feeding or Maine coons in general I am more than happy to have a chat with you !
